How does a GB Floating Ball Valve work?

The inner ball isn’t secured by an upper and bottom spindle. When shutting off flow, fluid pressure pushes the ball toward the downstream sealing seat to achieve leak-tight closure. Turning the valve stem spins the ball, lining up its through-hole with the pipe to let liquid or gas pass through smoothly.
