Gate Valve Flanged End

Huadu Valve Group is located in Wenzhou, China, offering durable industrial valves. Our Gate Valve Flanged End uses sturdy WCB carbon steel, great for high temperature working environments. With flanged connection and wedge structure, it brings full bore flow and reliable shut-off effect. It fits steam, chemical and water treatment pipelines well. We hold ISO and API certificates with complete production and inspection lines. OEM and ODM customization is welcome with flexible MOQ. Our valves sell worldwide and are highly praised by overseas customers.

Are there any major distinctions between flanged connection and threaded screwed connection on gate valves?

Flanged connections use matching flanges, bolts and gaskets to link pipes and valves. They fit large pipe diameters and high-pressure industrial lines. Disassembly for repair is simple, and the sealing performance stays stable long-term.

Threaded ends screw directly onto small pipes without flanges. They cost less and take less installation space, but only suit small-size, low-pressure light service lines. Threaded joints are prone to seepage under high temperature and tough working conditions, and are tricky to take apart later.

Is it okay to use flanged gate valves to slow down or adjust fluid flow?

We do not recommend throttling flow with flanged gate valves at all. These valves are designed strictly for full open or full shut states.

Keeping the wedge half-open lets fast-flowing medium continuously impact the sealing surface, which will scratch and wear the seat quickly, resulting in permanent leakage. Partial opening also triggers strong vibration and water hammer that harms the valve and connected piping. Globe valves or ball valves are far more suitable if flow adjustment is needed.

What regular size ranges and pressure ratings do Gate Valve Flanged End usually come in?

Common nominal sizes cover DN50 to DN1200. DN80, DN100, DN150, DN200 and DN300 are our top-selling sizes for industrial and municipal projects.

Standard pressure grades include two mainstream systems:

GB standard PN10, PN16, PN25, PN40; ANSI Class 150, Class 300, Class 600.

PN16 and Class 150 work for most water, steam and general chemical pipelines, while higher pressure levels handle high-temp steam and petrochemical working scenarios.

What typical raw materials are adopted for manufacturing flanged gate valves?

Valve body and wedge materials are picked according to medium and temperature:

WCB carbon steel: our mainstream choice, solid strength for regular oil, water and medium-temperature steam

SS304 / SS316 stainless steel: anti-corrosion, ideal for chemical liquid and seawater pipelines

Ductile iron: economical pick for low-pressure municipal clean water systems

Different sealing accessories are also matched: graphite packing for high-temperature steam, RPTFE for weak corrosive media, and Stellite hard alloy for wear-resistant high-pressure sealing faces.

What daily upkeep steps should we follow for Gate Valves Flanged End?

Doing regular simple checks can make your gate valve last much longer.

Make sure you only fully open or fully close the valve, don’t leave it halfway open as this will wear out the seal quickly.

Check the flange bolts every few months. Tighten any loose ones and replace old gaskets if you spot leaks around the joint.

Put special lubricant on the valve stem now and then so the handle turns smoothly without getting stuck.

Clear dust and chemical buildup off the valve outside to stop rust forming on the body and flanges.

If the valve still leaks when fully shut, take it apart to clean or swap out worn wedges and sealing seats.

If the valve won’t be used for a while, leave it fully open and cover the stem to shield it from rust and dirt.
