It does cost more than WCB carbon steel upfront, but it stands up to corrosive environments for years and lowers your long-term upkeep expenses.

How does it compare to a ball valve?

Globe valves are great if you need to tweak flow rates precisely, whereas ball valves are meant for fast full open or full shut operations. The stainless steel globe valve creates minor flow resistance, but it lets you fine-tune the fluid volume easily. Ball valves barely block flow at all, yet they can’t maintain steady partial flow. If your line needs accurate flow control, go with the globe valve.

What sealing types can be chosen?

Soft seal: PTFE, EPDM, graphite, achieving zero leakage for clean medium at medium-low temperature;

Hard seal: Stellite cobalt alloy surfacing on disc and valve seat, wear-resistant, high temperature resistant, suitable for steam, high-pressure industrial pipelines.

Any mandatory installation requirements?

Follow the flow arrow cast on valve body, medium flows from below the disc to upper side; reverse installation leads to poor sealing and heavy operation torque.

Keep valve stem vertical during installation, avoid horizontal stem placement.

Use stainless steel or alloy bolts for flange connection to prevent galvanic corrosion.

Clean all welding slag and impurities on flange sealing surface before assembly.
